Welcome to the world!!

One of my best friends (and surrogate sister) had her first baby almost a month ago. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet and photograph the little peanut 10 days after he was born. What most new moms don't realize is, the BEST time to photograph your newborn is within the first 2 weeks, (thanks for the tip Chelse). This is when you can get the really adorable sleepy baby shots!! Obviously most brand new moms are in a world of crazy so the last thing you think of is scheduling a photographer. Thankfully, Elizabeth, was more than willing to let me invade her new extended family and man handle my new favorite little boy!!

To date I think this may have been my best (and favorite) photoshoot. Here are some more from the session:

Congratulations!!

Party of 4

I had to opportunity to photograph 4 siblings a couple of weeks ago. These parents should worry because all kids (3 girls and 1 boy) were just beautiful. These kids make my pictures look good. A bunch of my favorites in the new storyboard format.

Happy Mother's Day

In honor of my amazing friends that are moms and my first attempt at storyboards.......

Most  of those were taken before I knew what I was doing with my camera! Last but not least a little "in honor" of my mom. I obviously did not take the picture (me with the braids).

More than just a photographer

You are an entertainer too! While moms (and dads) play a big role in getting that perfect picture, a lot of times it's up to you to come up with tricks to get the children (mostly babies) to cooperate! Here is some of what a photographer goes through before getting the right shot.

Sometimes they just need a new toy to play with (note my dinosaur) I keep her on my camera bag as a good luck charm, boy does she come in handy!

Or bribery with a cookie/candy.

Sometimes just a mothers love

But whatever the photographers trick is they somehow manage to get the good pictures!
